It's summer time and everyone is out in the sun more and their skin is more exposed to the sun. Have you ever gotten a really bad sunburn? I have twice in my life. Once when I was 12 and all of our dad's took us swimming and didn't even think about sunscreen.  Then when I was 15 went to work at the pool. On my very first day I never thought about getting burned like that. My family has always used vinegar, because they said it would take the heat out or I always used aloe.

Here is a list of remedies and whether or not they work.

1. Vinegar  Let's start with vinegar. It is believed that apple cider vinegar will take the sting out of a sunburn. According to Insider, it could or it could make it worse. Vinegar is acidic so you will need to dilute it quite a bit before applying to your skin.

2. Lotion. It could help as long as it is not oil based. Anything with oil in it will trap the heat.

3. Aloe. Yes! Aloe is the most popular treatment for a sunburn. It helps with pain, redness, and inflammation.

4.Coconut Oil.  Yes and No. Do not use coconut oil directly after getting a sunburn, because the oil will trap in the heat.

5. Shaving Cream. Yes and no. Shaving cream typically has menthol in it which works as a cooling agent. You will need to put in on in the foam form and let it sit and then wipe it off. Don't rub it in.
