Direct TV Customers Can’t Watch NewsWest 9/NBC
If you are a Direct TV customer you are probably some of your favorite shows and local news. In a statement from NewWest9, they confirm that a deal has not been reached between the two, leaving customers without NBC access and local news.
To our DIRECTV and AT&T U-Verse customers,
Unfortunately, despite our best efforts DIRECTV and AT&T U-Verse have refused to reach a fair, market-based agreement with NewsWest 9, and as a result NewsWest 9 is currently not available on DIRECTV or AT&T U-Verse. Over the past few years, we’ve reached hundreds of deals with cable and satellite providers all across the country. That means DIRECTV and AT&T U-Verse are taking away your access to your favorite NBC programming, including NFL Sunday night football, The Voice, and Chicago P.D., as well as your local news, weather and sports. While we remain hopeful that this will get resolved quickly, DIRECTV and AT&T U-Verse customers should know that our channels remain available on virtually every other service provider in your area as well as many streaming services that offer instant access when viewers sign up. As always, NewsWest 9 is also available for free over-the-air, and viewers can watch our newscasts live on https://www.newswest9.com/ or on our mobile and Roku apps. Our goal is to reach a fair agreement with DIRECTV and AT&T U-Verse as quickly as possible so you can resume watching our valuable programming.
