Today is Texas Independence Day! On March 2, 1836, 59  men gathered and signed the Declaration of Independence and Texas became, the Republic of Texas!

You know I love history, so anytime I get a chance to share it with you, I do! After many hard and long fought battles, and the victory of Santa Ana , at San Jacinto, Texas was now free to be their own entity.

"Come and Take It" was what began the Texas Revolution against Mexico. Those were the words written on a flag that was flown from a cannon at the Battle of Gonzales.

As we know, nine years later Texas would join the Union in 1845 and become the 28th state of the United States.

Many these days believe that we should return to the state of being our own entity. It will probably never happen, but there are some who wouldn't mind.
