There's a different kind of charity in the Permian Basin... One that helps the low income elderly and/or disables homeowners who aren't able to do home repairs due to physical or financial inability. It's called "Christmas In Action", and from their non-profit offices in Midland they coordinate volunteers to go out and do repairs for people who can't do it themselves. Maybe they're on a fixed income per month like Social Security or disability benefits and they use their income to pay things like groceries, gas, taxes, medical and prescription bills--all which add up. And when your monthly income is approximately $850, that money doesn't go very far.

So Christmas In Action is looking for YOU. They provide help to people right here in our area all year long--with a particular focus on a major volunteer effort in the months of March and April. They take applications from neighbors in need right here in the Permian Basin that need home repairs, and they have many qualified applicants on the waiting list. The needed renovations will help these homeowners live in safety and warmth and help with heating and cooling costs by providing things like better insulation--all the while helping the appearance of these homes and revitalizing neighborhoods in the process.

If you're able to make a donation--whatever that may be--all the money stays right here in West Texas and goes to help our neighbors in need. Whether it's a dollar or a thousand dollars--no donation is too big or too small. Click HERE for more information or to donate. Also--if you want to make a donation in honor of someone during the holiday season you can do that too. They'll even send a card acknowledging your donation to the individual or family letting them know of your contribution. Christmas In Action can't do it without you--so thanks for making a difference!
