Chris Lane’s First Time on the Radio Was an Early Christmas Present
For Chris Lane, his debut single, "Fix," was all about having fun and making music that makes people want to dance. While he certainly accomplished that goal -- "Fix" became his first song to make an appearance on country radio and went on to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart -- Lane wasn't able to truly celebrate the moment the first time he heard the song come on the radio. Read on to learn why.
The first time I heard my song on the radio, it was "Fix," the first song that I put out. I was in my hometown. It was in December, close to Christmas, and my mom had sent me to the store to grab some stuff for something that she wanted to make for a Christmas party.
I was driving, and I heard it come on the radio for the first time. I tried to get a video of it, but I was trying to pull off the road, and there was nowhere to pull. I pulled into a gas station, but by the time I got there, the song was ending. So I didn't necessarily get to enjoy it that much! But it was still a cool opportunity and, obviously, a memory that I hold onto.
Now, every time my song comes on the radio and my parents hear it, they call me. They love it. [When my song comes on the radio now], I turn it up as hard as I can. I absolutely sing along, too.
