Here is a list of some of the most haunted hotels in Texas. Each has had very interesting happenings like unexplained noises, eerie voices, and other frightful occurrences. These hotels are said to be the most creepy, spooky, and frightening hotels in the state.

1. Baker Hotel (Mineral Wells)

The Baker Hotel opened in 1929 and throughout the years people are said to have seen a bloody nude woman on the seventh floor, as well as a man supposedly killed after being caught in an elevator door. The hotel eventually closed but is now currently under construction. The opening date has been pushed back to Spring of 2026.

2. Jefferson Hotel (Jefferson)

Jefferson is known as one of the most haunted towns in Texas so it shouldn't surprise you that the town is full of haunted hotels. At the Jefferson Hotel guests have been known to have had objects being thrown at them, doors slamming, children laughing, knocking on the walls, footsteps pounding down the hallways, and other unexplained disturbances.

3. The Excelsior (Jefferson)

Another haunted hotel in Jefferson, The Excelsior is the oldest hotel in East Texas. Some of the famous people who have stayed at The Excelsior are  Ulysses S. Grant, Oscar Wilde, and Steven Spielberg. As rumor has it Spielberg didn't stay too long after he checked in due to an uncomfortable encounter with a phantom woman.

4. Hotel Galvez (Galveston)

A woman is said to haunt the fifth floor of the Hotel Galvez. "The Lovelorn Lady" is said to have hung herself after finding out that her husband had been killed at sea.

5. Sheraton Gunter Hotel (San Antonio)

In 1965 a blonde woman was staying in room 636 when she was tragically murdered. It is said that you can hear strange noises coming from this room, as well as sightings of a ghostly figure with her arms outstretched.

6. Menger Hotel (San Antonio)

This is one of the oldest hotels in Texas that opened in 1859 and it sits just adjacent to the Alamo. This hotel is known to have 32 different spirits that haunt the hotel, some have even said one was Teddy Roosevelt who stayed there once. They say these spirits or ghosts walk through walls.

7. Emily Morgan (San Antonio)

Before becoming a hotel, the Emily Morgan was a medical facility that housed a hospital, surgical rooms, and a crematorium. Guests have said they have experienced phones ringing with no one on the other end, lights coming on and off arbitrarily, and a woman in white appearing and then quickly disappearing.

8.Stockyards Hotel (Fort Worth)

Plenty of famous people have been known to have stayed at the Stockyards Hotel including Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie and Clyde stayed in suite 305, which is now named after them. In suite 305 it is said that the water will turn on and off and the elevator will go up and down with no one on it. The creepiest thing of all some women have reported feeling like someone has crawled into bed with them.

10. The Adolphus (Dallas)

Not only does Adolphus make the list of the most haunted but it is also considered the most famous hotel in Texas. Rumor has it that on the 19th floor, you can find the ghost of a jilted bride who hung herself after to husband to be never showed up. She was found hanging in the spot where they would have gotten married.
