Another day, another scam hitting the area.

But this one could be very scary if you don't know what to look for.

So yesterday, I get a call from what the caller ID shows as the Radio Station.

I answer it, but it isn't from the Radio Station.

"This is Laura from your companies HR department on a recorded line."

First things first, if we have a Laura in our companies HR, I can't find her.

And second, that is not how our company works.

She was on a phishing expedition to get information. (Not that she would have gotten much from me anyways, not unless she wants to pay my student loans off!)

It is not as hard as you think to get someones employment information. With Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media out there, people can put 2 and 2 together.

If you get one of these calls, hang up.

If you think it might be legitimate tell them you will call your companies HR department yourself. They will make up excuses for you not to do that or just hang up.

Stay safe out there and protect your information!
