After A Long Hiatus In Midland-The Purrfect Place To Adopt A Feline Opens Again!
Looking to adopt a cat and add a new furry family member? Lone Star Sanctuary For Animals in Midland, our local non-profit animal shelter, has shared the news that their cat adoptions will resume after a long hiatus due to construction and the addition of the facilities. The long-awaited opening of their new cat building is here! The cat area at the Sanctuary has been closed to the public since November of last year awaiting the completion of the new building that will house a good portion of their cat population.
Lone Star Sanctuary For Animals first opened its doors 23 years ago in 1999 and has been saving and changing the lives of dogs and cats ever since. Time took its toll on the original mobile home that housed many of its cats and it was time for a new building! The Director, Kirk French, and staff have worked tirelessly over the last several months to make this dream a reality!
On Saturday, April 30th from 1-4:30 pm the public can come to see for themselves the result of their hard work! Located on the grounds of the Sanctuary at 4200 Fairgrounds Road in Midland, the new building is close to double the size of the old one and beautiful inside and out! The feline population will be able to stretch their paws and enjoy all the space and play areas their new dwelling provides! Most importantly, they can meet people who are looking to give them a forever home!
To celebrate their grand re-opening, Domino’s Pizza will be in the parking lot from 1-4:30 pm selling their $5 pizzas and 50% of the proceeds will go to Lone Star Sanctuary For Animals! Come out and support the animals and bring dinner home at the same time!
