This year marks 10 years for the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center providing West Texas with concerts, comedians, classical shows--you name it. The opening date was August 12, 2011 after 5 years of construction--and to this day it continues to provide great shows to the residents of the Permian Basin. I just saw comedian Brian Regan there back on March 25th and it was a great show! I've been told since I got here that the Permian Basin loves seeing shows--especially comedians! What better way to celebrate the 10 year anniversary than with a free concert?

It won't be on the actual date of the 10th anniversary of the facility opening-but there will be a free concert to celebrate from local favorite "Current Nine". The show is free for everyone but you do need to reserve tickets at this link if you want to go. If you've not seen or heard Current Nine before--they play a wide variety of music from pop to rock to country and more. According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, they even have items for sale to commemorate the 10th Anniversary--like chocolate bars, t-shirts, posters, coffee mugs, and more.

I haven't personally seen Current Nine, so I'm excited about going to the show. Not only to see the band but to also help the center celebrate it's anniversary. Now that I've lived here almost a year and I'm starting to feel like Midland is home--I want to rally around the great things we have just like the rest of West Texas always does and show support so that things like the Wagner are able to stay open and keep doing what they do best--keeping us entertained!
