Why Texas Is Ranked One Of The Worst States To Live In
If you ask any Texan where they would rather live other than the Lone Star State, most would look at you crazy. We don't fully understand the concept of thinking another state is better than Texas. Believe it or not, a recent study named Texas one of the worst states to move to this year.
TEXAS IS THE THIRD WORST STATE TO MOVE TO
Consumer Affairs based the study on affordability, economy, education, health, quality of life, and safety. They ranked the states from best to worst and Texas did not do well in most categories. Specifically, Texas ranked 41st in affordability, 37th in the economy, and 38th in safety. Unfortunately, the situation is even worse when it comes to education and health, where Texas ranked last at 51st place.
It's not all bad news. Texas made the top 20 in one category. The Lone Star State ranked number 16 for good quality of life.
Another small positive is we can at least say that we aren't the worst. New Mexico came in at number two for the worst state to live in with California taking the number one spot.
BEST STATES TO LIVE IN
New Hampshire took the second spot with high scores in education and health, quality of life, and economy. Although the state had the second-lowest property and violent crime rates in all the states, it ranked 44th in affordability.
Utah holds the top position. It had the highest affordability score because of its low property taxes. The state has a high income-to-household rate and is ranked third for its economy and quality of life.
