High School football season is upon us in West Texas! As we all know the the city hums and comes alive to support our local football teams. With this comes the fun of prep and getting ready for the Friday night games. Gathering the family and heading to a Friday night football game has been a tradition that dates back to even before our parents were in High School.

Thinking about my high school days as an Odessa Broncho, the whole school would start preparing for our games days before we played. With our Pep Rally on Wednesday mornings, we would breathe red and white until our games on Friday. Even though our team was not doing so great that year (well most years) nothing could dim our spirit for that Friday night game!

Now that high school football is back, it had me thinking about how it was when I was in school. I wanted to do some research and find some pictures from our games to help me reminisce on those fun days. While doing my research I stumbled across some amazing photos of what high school football was like from the year 2000.

As the kids would say "the turn of the century" was definitely one to remember and what a perfect time to share these throwback photos now that we all are in our football spirit. Do you remember what you were doing on game day in 2000? Were you jamming out to Eminem on the way to the game or were you talking on your purple see through land line phone to see what you and your friends would be wearing that night? Here are the pictures to help unlock a part of your memory you forgot you had and didn't know you needed.
