Everyone in the state of Texas looks forward to bluebonnet season. But this year, things are a lot different. What is going on with the bluebonnets?

When Does Bluebonnet Season Begin In The State Of Texas?

The season of bluebonnets is already in full swing thankfully. Some of us may have already seen some here in the state, due to the fact it started at the end of March and will continue to go until later in April. But, while we're in the middle of the season, it doesn't seem to be very plentiful does it?

That's because weather in the state of Texas has been kind to our favorite flower. According to MySanAntonio, Fall 2024 did not have enough rain to sustain a growth of the Lone Star State's official flower. In addition, the February freeze in the state made it harder to see them.

So Is There Anything That Will Assist In Helping More Bluebonnets Appear?

Unfortunately, Mother Nature is going to be the one that decides if more bluebonnets appear in Texas. As revealed by Vice President Of The San Antonio Botanical Garden, Andrew Labay:

"If we do get some more rain, some good kind, not just one day of rain, but, you know, a couple rains in a row, then you can really expect things to quickly respond and green up...You'll see some beautiful colors returned to the roadsides."

So, maybe some rain dances will show Mother Nature that we want to see our favorite flower in the state of Texas? We could always use more rain after all!
