East Texas Towns Reimagined as Songs

(KNUE-FM) Life in East Texas is a little different. We have our own vibe and we move to the beat of our own song. And most people prefer it that way. There are lots of wonderful places all over the Lone Star State, but there is something special about each town in East Texas.

It’s almost difficult to describe the different feeling that you get in each East Texas town, which is why I wanted to have some fun and try to describe each East Texas town as a song as if we were coming up with an East Texas playlist.

Why Music Matches Places So Well

It’s incredible how music and specific songs can make us feel a certain way, but the same can be said about towns. It’s amazing how previous experiences can help provoke some of those feelings or emotions, but it can be incredibly powerful.

We’ve all had it happen before when you’re having a mediocre day, things aren’t going the way you want them to, and the perfect song comes on and completely lifts your mood. It’s such a fun and cool experience.

How We Chose Songs for Each Town

Obviously, this is very subjective, as anyone could create their own list of songs for each East Texas town. It just sounded like a fun idea and wanted to see what the East Texas playlist would look like after identifying a song to represent a bunch of ETX towns.
